The acoustic scanner generates a 360 ° 
continuous and oriented image of the borehole walls by transmitting ultrasound pulses from arotating sensor. It is capable of recording simultaneously, the amplitude and the travel times of the reflected signals at the interface between the fluid and the rock formations.
Thedevice is equipped with a orientation system and needs to be centralized. The BHTV tool needs the presence of a fluid inside the borehole. It is also operating in muddy water condition.
APPLICATIONS:

♦ Geomechanical analysis of vertical and horizontal boreholes;
